TATTOO FAQ / IMPORTANT INFORMATION

How do I book a Tattoo appointment?

I accept bookings through the contact form on this website, as well as via direct email at maddyyoungtattoo@gmail.com.

In your email please include the following:

  • Where on the body do you wish to be tattooed?

  • What subject matter? (Please send any reference images you might have)

  • Size in rough cms.

Where are you located?

I live in Brisbane, Australia, and work inner city. I aim to visit Melbourne and Sydney frequently to work and take booking inquiries for these cities year-round.

Do I pay a deposit before my appointment? What is a deposit?

To book an appointment, I take a deposit to secure your timeslot and design. This deposit acts as a guarantor that you will attend your appointment, as well as compensating for preparation time and acting as a drawing fee. This deposit is non-refundable.

Can I change my design on the day? Can I change the amount of tattoos I have booked for?

Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to change flash pieces, or get fewer tattoos than you booked for - Unfortunately, I am often unable to accommodate these changes if told on the day of your appointment, but can if given enough warning.
In regards to changing the number of tattoos, if you have booked 3 pieces in and decide you only want 2 but have not told me beforehand, you will forfeit your deposit to compensate for that extra time that could have been allotted to another client.

Can I reschedule my appointment?

Unless a medical certificate is provided, I am unable to accommodate rescheduling unless given 2 weeks’ notice in advance. Please ensure that you are available at the time we discuss (sometimes this may mean booking ahead in the future)

Do you tattoo imagery other than your own designs and flash? Do you repeat your flash designs?

Yes - I am more than happy to work with you on your idea and design outside of the imagery I have designed myself. I also repeat my flash designs, as this allows me to offer a broader spectrum of clients the designs they want at a lower price. If there is a flash piece of mine that you would like to be made individual to you, please let me know and I can alter the design to be uniquely yours.

How do I prepare for my tattoo?

I recommend a good 8 hours of sleep, as well as having eaten a substantial meal; additionally, I recommend avoiding drugs and alcohol the night before your appointment - I am unable to tattoo with those who are intoxicated or hungover.

Can I use numbing cream?

Please email me directly if you plan on using numbing cream, as I need to leave extra time for these appointments (Please note if you don’t message and show up with numbing cream on the area, we may not have enough time for your tattoo and your deposit will be forfeit) I will also be able to advise on the correct procedure for applying a numbing cream to ensure you receive the full potential of the product.

What can I do if I am feeling nervous or anxious?

Please let me know if you're holding any physical or emotional anxiety about your appointment (especially if this is your first tattoo)
I consider my role to be one of a caregiver and healer, and if I am able to offer any reassurance, or additional comfort I will do my best to do so <3
I have sensory aids and often find with some discussion we can find a way to make things less stressful or difficult.

How much will my tattoo cost?

My minimum is $180, and I generally charge by the piece. I have a day rate that is available by inquiry, and I try my best to accommodate budgets where possible if discussed in advance. I accept cash on the day.

How do I heal my tattoo?

Upon completion of your tattoo, I will give you a thorough run-through of how to appropriatly care for and heal your tattoo. If you have any concerns afterward please feel free to message me via email or Instagram and I will be able to assist.
